Sony A7R IV
The Sony A7R IV features a high-resolution 61MP full-frame sensor, making it particularly strong for landscape photography where detail is crucial. Its Real-time Eye AF and Animal Eye AF capabilities benefit wildlife photographers, though not as advanced as newer models. The camera offers 10fps continuous shooting with full AF/AE tracking, suitable for wildlife action. For landscapes, its 15-stop dynamic range and high resolution enable exceptional detail capture. The 5-axis in-body image stabilization provides 5.5 stops of compensation, helpful for both telephoto wildlife shots and handheld landscape work. The weather-sealed construction and dual UHS-II card slots ensure reliability in field conditions.
This is a compromised camera for wildlife photography. While capable of astonishing image quality, the autofocus is slow and unreliable - especially with the Sony 200-600 lens. The buffer is also very small, and fills extremely quicky, you'll miss lots of action. Finally, the rolling shutter is awful, forcing you to rely on the noisey mechanical shutter, scaring off sensitve subject like eagles and other birds of prey. The prospect of being able to use the 61MP to crop isnt enough to counter all the other disadvantages. There's more pixels than the computers can handle.
